How We Make Your Frames & Mounts
Stage 1 - You find our framing website, you find out that you can order any size picture frames and mounts at no price premium... so you go ahead order them!
Stage 2 - The order is sent through to our systems securely, where we have a GCF framer check over them for any possible errors or mistakes. If anything seems out of place, then one of our friendly members of staff will give you a quick call to check.
Stage 3 - Your order is sent to our production team as soon as we receive the moulding, at which point your frames are then cut on saws accurate to 1mm.
Stage 4 - All 4 sides of the frames are then pinned and glued together using a special piece of equipment called an under pinner. All the corners are checked to make sure that there are no obvious gaps, if there are... we start again!
Stage 5 - If your frame has a mount within it then we now cut the mount using one of our computerised mount cutters from Gunnar. Each capable of cutting hundreds of thousands of mounts each year. We use the highest quality mount board, 1.4 and 2 microns thick, depending on which option you choose. We ensure that there are no over-cuts or marks on the item before pairing the frame and mount together.
Stage 6 - We now cut the glazing and backing together on a special wall saw. We cut these items together to make sure they are exactly the same size as one another. Cutting the boards at this point means that we can guarantee the correct size product, because if either the frame or the glazing is wrong, they wont fit together!
Stage 7 - If there are any slight imperfections on the frame we use special methods within the framing industry to remove them from the wood or aluminium completely. It is also at this point that we provide the appropriate hanging fixings, cord and sundry items to the back of the frame, so it is ready to hang or stand.
Stage 8 - Your frame is then sent to a final quality check point and packing. The methods we use to pack are exceptionally advanced, and ensure that damages in transit are kept to an absolute minimum. It is these methods which allow us to transport glass, which is clearly a brittle material.
Stage 9 - After being packed, your frames are then sent and stored in our despatch zone, ready to be loaded onto a Home Delivery Network lorry as soon as payment is taken or received. Once despatched from our factory, your frame takes just 24 hours to arrive at your door or office.
