Frame Glazing

In most picture frames people choose to use plexiglass or glass to help protect the picture from dust and accidents. In instances where the art or poster in the frame is dispensable no glazing may be used within the frame. Glass is common when framing watercolours and rare when framing oil paintings. In museums and galleries special glass is used in order to prevent UV light reaching the priceless piece of art causing the colours to fade over time. Another special type of glass is non-reflective. This glazing is very brittle and expensive.

Acrylic glazing (PMMA 1.5 & 2mm) is used on the majority of our frames. It has several advantages over glass. This is the very best acrylic available on the market, unlike some competitors glazing, is especially manufactured for visual clarity for use in art-related applications.
